Opportunities at Generation Africa!

Bonolo Monthe of Maungo Craft is one of three lucky GoGettaz Alumni who were accepted to study a master’s degree at the prestigious University of Utah David Eccles School of Business.

We caught up with Bonolo to find out how the course is going…

She says, “I love the entrepreneurial journey because even though it pushes you to the limits, it creates an environment for growth and learning that can be used to shape the future.

I was initially not sure about applying for the Master’s Degree Program at the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business because I felt that I didn’t have the time and that our business had moved past some of the stages that they spoke about – but, my oh my, am I glad I applied ANYWAY! Even though the 1st semester is not done yet I have learned a lot about the building blocks that are key and need to be considered in order to start a business or to grow and expand it.

Through this program, I have been exposed to different methodologies, teachings, opportunities, industry leaders and have built systems from scratch that allow us to understand how different elements impact each other.

The professors are world-class and understand the journey of startups who are looking to launch their business or companies at the growth stage who are looking to launch into new markets or looking to expand. There are nuances to running a business, to making money, to expanding into the right markets, to the right SKUs, to understanding your target market, to refining your USP.

All these elements, carefully considered, will increase your chances of success. I am really glad I took a chance on myself and that Generation Africa, Yara International and The University of Utah took a chance on me and awarded me with a scholarship to study my Master’s in Business Creation!

I can’t wait to see how the rest of the journey goes.

African child – never stop pushing yourself!”

Bonolo was the winner of the very first #GoGettaz#Agripreneur Prize in 2019. She is embracing the opportunities available to the GoGettaz Alumni. Brigitha Faustin of OBRI Tanzania and Isaac Sesi of Sesi Technologies are also taking on this challenge, made possible by Generation Africa, Yara International and The University of Utah.

We wish you the best of luck with the Masters Programme! Well done on being accepted to this prestigious school. We can’t wait to see how you apply your new knowledge.
